Amacaballo

Horselover Fat es un escritor de ciencia ficción. El abuso de sustancias le está ocasionado problemas para distinguir entre realidad y creación artística. Su última obsesión consiste en creer que un satélite espacial le está irradiando con un haz de luz rosa que le permite incrementar su consciencia hasta límites insospechados. Esa transmisión del conocimiento a través de los rayos procedentes de VALIS hace que Horselover Fat empiece a preocuparse hasta extremos compulsivos de la existencia del Imperio. Su misión en la Tierra a partir de entonces será combatir al Imperio.

Mulholland Drive

Dan (Patrick Fischler) y Herb (Michael Cooke) son dos amigos que se encuentran comiendo en una cafetería. Entre café y café Dan le cuenta a Herb una reciente pesadilla que ha tenido en la que su propio amigo aparece. Sin embargo, el elemento más estresante del sueño es un hombre cuya presencia le perturba en grado sumo. Dan le confiesa a Herb que no le gustaría tener que verle al otro lado del espejo. Por desgracia, no todo lo que queremos acaba cumpliéndose.
 

Dan: I just wanted to come here.
Herb: To Winkie's?
Dan: This Winkie's.
Herb: Okay, why this Winkie's?
Dan: It's kind of embarrassing.
Herb: Go ahead.
Dan: I had a dream about this place.
Herb: Oh, boy.
Dan: See what I mean?
Herb: Okay, so you had a dream about this place.
Tell me.
Dan: Well, it's the second one I've had, but they're both the same. They start out that I'm in here, but it's not day or night. It's kind of half-night, you know? But it looks just like this, except for the light. And
[shaking his head]
Dan: I'm scared like I can't tell you.
Of all people, you're standing right over there, by that counter. You're in both dreams and you're scared. I get even more frightened when I see how afraid you are and then I realize what it is. There's a man... in back of this place. He's the one who's doing it. I can see him through the wall. I can see his face. I hope that I never see that face, ever, outside of a dream.

Pez plátano


Seymour Glass acaba de volver de la 2ª Guerra Mundial.
Para descansar y alejarse del mundanal ruido acude junto a su mujer a una zona costera con el objetivo de calmar sus nervios. Por desgracia la tensión acumulada es tal que hasta en un ascensor, medio proclive para hablar sobre meteorología, Seymour acaba discutiendo con una señora por cometer la osadía de mirarle sus pies.  El fin de sus problemas lo encontrará en su habitación.

On the sub-main floor of the hotel, which the management directed bathers to use, a woman with zinc salve on her nose got into the elevator with the young man.
"I see you're looking at my feet," he said to her when the car was in motion.
"I beg your pardon?" said the woman.
"I said I see you're looking at my feet."
"I beg your pardon. I happened to be looking at the floor," said the woman, and faced the doors of the car.
"If you want to look at my feet, say so," said the young man. "But don't be a God-damned sneak about it."
"Let me out here, please," the woman said quickly to the girl operating the car.
The car doors opened and the woman got out without looking back.
"I have two normal feet and I can't see the slightest God-damned reason why anybody should stare at them," said the young man.

Carretera Perdida


Fred Madison (Bill Pullman) es un gran músico de jazz. A pesar de su éxito profesional se encuentra en una etapa personal complicada ya que alberga serias dudas respecto a la fidelidad de su esposa Renee (Patricia Arquette).  Un día acude a una fiesta con su mujer y se encuentra a un tipo misterioso (Robert Blake) que le habla de una manera un tanto críptica. El hombre parece poseer el don de la ubicuidad ya que se encuentra al mismo tiempo hablando con él y en otro sitio. Fred se queda realmente desconcertado aunque al final (o al principio) el mismo vivirá una experiencia similar.
 

Mystery Man: We've met before, haven't we?
Fred: I don't think so. Where was it you think we met?
Mystery Man: At your house. Don't you remember?
Fred: No. No, I don't. Are you sure?
Mystery Man: Of course. As a matter of fact, I'm there right now.
Fred: What do you mean? You're where right now?
Mystery Man: At your house.
Fred: [pause]That's fucking crazy, man.
Mystery Man: Call Me. Dial your number. Go ahead. [Fred dials the number and the Mystery Man answers]
Mystery Man: [over the phone] I told you I was here.
Fred: [amused] How'd you do that?
Mystery Man: Ask me. [Fred remembers the anonymous video tapes]
Fred: [angrily into the phone] How did you get inside my house?
Mystery Man: You invited me. It is not my custom to go where I am not wanted.
Fred: [into the phone] Who are you? [Both Mystery Men laugh mechanically]
Mystery Man: [over the phone] Give me back my phone. [Fred gives the phone back] Mystery Man: It's been a pleasure talking to you.

Bicicletas

El sargento Pluck y el policía MacCruiskeen están muy preocupados por el bienestar de la comunidad. Su principal desvelo lo producen las bicicletas y la relación entre simbiótica y parasitaria con las personas que las montan. Su objetivo es por tanto evitar a toda costa que los seres humanos se mancillen con partes de bicicleta. Aunque también velan por la integridad moral de las bicicletas que se pueden ver afectadas por ciertos elementos de la naturaleza humana.
